Tech stack checker — frameworks, hosting, infrastructure, and security

Go beyond CMS detection. TrueTechFinder identifies frontend frameworks, build tools, hosting providers, CDN configuration, backend signals, and security headers — with a Stack Health Score and JSON export for every scan.

✓ Frontend frameworks detected✓ Hosting & CDN identified✓ Security headers analysed✓ JSON export on every scan
Detection methodology

What signals we analyse — and how

Every tech stack detection involves multiple layers of signal analysis. Here is what TrueTechFinder examines for each scan, and the detection method used per category.

Frontend Frameworks
Examples

React, Vue.js, Angular, Next.js, Nuxt, Svelte, Astro, Remix

Detection method

JavaScript bundle signatures, global variables, data attributes

Build Tools
Examples

Webpack, Vite, Turbopack, Parcel, Rollup, esbuild

Detection method

Bundle filename patterns, asset hash formats, source map headers

Hosting & Infrastructure
Examples

Vercel, Netlify, AWS, GCP, Cloudflare Pages, Fly.io, Railway

Detection method

Server headers, IP ranges, DNS records, edge node signatures

CDN & Edge
Examples

Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, CloudFront, Sucuri

Detection method

CF-Ray headers, Fastly-IO headers, server identification

Backend Signals
Examples

Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET

Detection method

X-Powered-By headers, error page signatures, framework-specific cookies

Security Layer
Examples

HSTS, CSP, reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare protection, SSL/TLS grade

Detection method

HTTP security headers, meta tag policies, challenge page detection

Built for developers

Structured data, not just a visual report

Available now
JSON export on every scan

Every scan result is exportable as structured JSON. The data is organised by technology category — CMS, hosting, frontend, analytics, CDN, security, build tools — ready for use in your own pipelines, dashboards, or reports.

Available now
Stack Health Score in the payload

The Stack Health Score is included in every API response and JSON export. Use it programmatically to flag sites with low scores, track stack health over time, or trigger alerts when a monitored site's score drops.

Coming soon
API access

A REST API is in active development. It will support single URL scans, batch scanning, and webhook delivery of results. Designed for integration with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, and custom dashboards.

FAQ

Common questions from developers

What is a tech stack checker?

A tech stack checker analyses a website's HTTP responses, JavaScript bundles, HTML markup, and network signatures to identify the technologies it is built on — including the frontend framework, CMS, hosting provider, CDN, analytics tools, and security configuration.

How does TrueTechFinder detect server-side technologies?

TrueTechFinder inspects HTTP response headers (X-Powered-By, Server, Via, CF-Ray, etc.), cookie names, redirect patterns, and DNS records. These signals often reveal hosting providers, backend frameworks, and CDN configuration that client-side tools miss.

Can I export the tech stack data as JSON?

Yes. Every scan result includes a JSON export option that gives you the structured technology data — categorised by CMS, hosting, frontend, analytics, CDN, security, and more. Useful for integrating scan data into your own tools or reports.

Is there an API for the tech stack checker?

An API is in development and will be released soon. It will allow you to programmatically scan websites and retrieve structured technology data, Stack Health Scores, and AI insights. Sign up to be notified when it launches.

What is the Stack Health Score and how is it calculated?

The Stack Health Score (0–100) evaluates the overall technical quality of a detected stack. It weights factors including framework modernity, security header presence (HSTS, CSP), CDN usage, dependency staleness signals, and observable risk patterns. A score above 70 indicates a healthy, modern stack. Below 40 suggests meaningful technical debt or security gaps.

How often is the technology fingerprint database updated?

The detection engine is updated continuously as new technologies are released and new fingerprinting methods are developed. If you find a technology that is not being detected, you can report it and it will be prioritised for the next database update.
